The National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization primarily composed of current and former black women legislators as well as many appointed officials.
NOBEL Women is dedicated to strengthening the bond between its individual members, as well as the relationship between the organization and the community.
NOBEL Women is committed to increasing and promoting the presence of Black women in government, nonprofit and corporate leadership through training and development; protecting the public interest of women and families; and supporting policy initiatives that contribute to the enhancement and sustainability of the Black community.
Today, NOBEL Women stands over 380 members strong, serving in state legislatures in over 40 states. NOBEL Women members collectively represent upwards of 20 million Americans of all racial backgrounds.
Each year at our Annual Legislative Conference, NOBEL Women members pass policy resolutions that directly impact federal and state policy. The organization focuses on U.S. domestic policy and is committed to policies that positively affect all Americans.
As a valuable voice for Black communities, NOBEL Women communicates the critical needs of Black constituencies to the media, legislatures, and government to affect change.
